girl stop, how to flatten natural hair? where they do that at? last i heard, almost all naturals, despite their texture, want their hair AS BIG AND FLUFFY AS POSSIBLE.
joann’s hair is natural yes, but it’s obviously not healthy yet thus it’s surely in no condition to be shown to thousands of women as a representation of healthy natural hair care. there is nothing about her styling that is reflective of a healthy hair regimen. this is pure, unadulterated natural hair fraud.

Onyx Rose Asks You: Remedy for Hair Boredom?
When I get bored with my hair, I know it's time for braids with extensions-- 2 months is a great break from having to do your own hair every week to two weeks. Now I can't wait to start styling my 'fro again.
When you're getting bored with your hair what do you do? Dye it? Cut it off? *gasp* relax it? How long does this cure your boredom?

Rose Love: Red Hair and Lean Shakes
Rose Love is where I'll be sharing some of my favorite blog posts that I read throughout the week.
Thanks to some great ladies on Twitter and this blog post on Hair2ToeBeauty.com, I'm excited to continue my healthy living and weight loss journey. Since January, I've been able to maintain my 20 pound weight loss; however, within the past two weeks I've developed some unhealthy eating habits. I plan on running/toning daily and starting a pescetarian diet (soon). I plan on incorporating protein shakes like this one into my diet.

Are We Our Own Worst Enemies?
With natural hair, there are some obvious issues that people experience: styling, shrinkage, finding products without breaking the bank, etc. However, recently I've noticed that some of the major issues don't even have to do with hair care-- it's naturals themselves and some of our attitudes. I try not to focus on the negative aspects of the natural hair community because there are a lot of awesome natural women out there, but I really needed to say this...

Link of the Day: Rastafarian Faces Discrimination, Wins $30,000
![]() |
| Christopher Woodson |
From Roanoke.com:
Woodson has not cut his hair since the end of 1998 -- a practice predating his Rastafari conversion -- or his beard since 2008. As is true of many Rastafari, he wears his head and facial hair in dreadlocks and "beardlocks."
In June, during a trial held in federal court to consider religious discrimination allegations filed by him and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission against a regional company, he tucked and tied his long hair and beardlocks in a head wrap -- which he had said he'd have been willing to do to get the job he was denied.
"I came to court that way to show what could have been done," Woodson said. "I would have done everything they wanted me to do."
